Log files are created for the Stanley WAMS and WiQ Portal gateways in two locations.
1. The first and most obvious location is within the Portal's web interface. To access this simply open a web browser and enter the portals IP address. Once into the interface click the Log File button. There is not a lot of information here but can be very important. Typically if the portal can not communicate with the server/host machine it will note that and provide some generic information on possible causes.
2. The second location for portal log files is on the server/host machine. The location is different depending on if you are running a 32-bit or 64-bit machine.
Default location for 32-bit machine: C:\Program Files\Stanley Security Solutions\Stanley Wi-Q AMS Services\Wi-Q Comm Service\logs
Default location for 64-bit machine: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stanley Security Solutions\Stanley Wi-Q AMS Services\Wi-Q Comm Service\logs
Here you will see a different file for each of the portal; titled by their MAC address. If there is not a file with a specific portal gateway's MAC address that means that the server/host machine has not encountered a problem with that portal.
These files can contain a lot of useful information. To much to cover in this article. But these files should be used to aid in the troubleshooting of various issues of the Stanley Omnilock WAMS or WiQ Access Control Systems.
Note: If these files begin to get to large they can be deleted. New ones will be generated for any new issues that come up.
